Great Getaways

A fabulous hotel or resort is a welcome retreat for both body and soul. But today’s best getaways offer much more: Their well-appointed rooms often inspire guests to replicate the look once they get home. And, after all, isn’t that a much better souvenir than a T-shirt?

There’s something utterly soothing about simplicity, a point proven beautifully in the room at the Opus Hotel Vancouver. Part of the peaceful feeling comes from the color scheme. A single statement color, red, takes the lead, supported by more subtle neutral hues—whites, creams, even yummy shades of chocolate brown. You’ll notice, too, that the primary hue is used in moderation; it covers approximately half the surfaces, allowing the neutrals to keep everything in perfect balance.
